In Sri Lanka we engage with civil society, local businesses, donors and the government to build an inclusive peace.
We help young politicians to play a positive role in supporting peace and equality for all Sri Lankans. We ensure that development organisations are sensitive to the impact that their funding has on the complex context in the country. We also promote the positive role that people in the diaspora can play in reconciliation, both in their own communities and in Sri Lanka.
Our work is important because after nearly 30 years of conflict in Sri Lanka, more than a generation of Sri Lankans have grown up with no real experience of peace.
We have been working in Sri Lanka since 1989 and opened our office in the country in 2003.
