Senior Finance and Operations Officer

Salary: £37,901 per annum, pro rata
Duration: 12 months, (maternity cover)
Based: London

Alert is looking for a Senior Programme Finance and Operations Officer (SPFOO) for the South and Southeast Asia team and the Programme Advisory Unit, who will contribute to the effectiveness and implementation of the programme by supporting both managers to ensure sound financial, operational and administrative practices and management. The post holder ensures that the financial and administrative systems and procedures for the programmes and budgets in his/her specific portfolio are of high quality and are compliant with the requirements of International Alert’s donors and with relevant laws. Additionally, SPFOO actively engages with others organisationally to ensure that Alert’s overall finance and administrative systems and procedures are sound and compliant.
Educated to a degree level (in a relevant subject), you will also have extensive experience of budgets and contract management from diverse donors (such as DFID, EU, USAID, foundations) in an INGO environment including:
• Managing complex budgets and forecasts plans
• Compiling financial reports from a variety of sources
• Overseeing finance and operations for overseas offices
• People management
