Diaspora Diaries: Amjad Mohamed-Saleem

Amjad Mohamed-Saleem was born in Nigeria to Sri Lankan parents. He now lives in the UK, but previously worked in Sri Lanka as the country director for Muslim Aid, working on post-tsunami and post-war rehabilitation and reconstruction.

Since returning to the UK, Amjad has continued to work on interfaith issues in Sri Lanka and with diaspora communities in the UK. He says he feels that he can contribute his experience of living in a multicultural society to help Sri Lankans in shaping their own post-war future.

Amjad strongly believes that Sri Lanka has the ability, opportunity and resources to solve its own problems.
