Change in exile
This project explores the role of formal and non-formal education in achieving social stability among young Syrian refugees and their host communities in Denmark and Lebanon.
Education is a crucial sector in the response to the Syrian crisis, but its potential to contribute to social stability has not yet been maximised. Bringing together young people and helping to alter negative perceptions of the ‘other’ are vitally important.
We will explore how local and international organisations, but also education staff, parents and young people themselves, are responding to the realities of the refugee crisis and creating opportunities for social stability.
We will also help to create an informal network of academics and practitioners to support knowledge-based policies and dialogue on the refugee crisis in Denmark, Lebanon and neighbouring countries.
