Alert Europe
International Alert established its European headquarters in The Hague, Netherlands, in November 2017 to better engage with European governments and institutions, including the European Union, in support of our shared goal of building sustainable and inclusive peace.
Working closely with European institutions, governments and civil society, Alert Europe engages policy-makers, institutions, funders and peacebuilders in strategic partnerships to influence policy and practice in order to better address the root causes of conflict, reduce violence and build sustainable peace.
Alert Europe also acts as the interface between Alert’s global family and the European peacebuilding community, monitoring emerging issues and collaborating with key partners to increase engagement and support for conflict sensitivity, conflict prevention and peacebuilding.
Headquartered in The Hague, the ‘City of Peace and Justice,’ Alert Europe is well-positioned to serve as a go-to expert for peacebuilding stakeholders across the continent and is also well-placed for cross-sectoral partnerships. By linking our peacebuilding and conflict sensitivity expertise to actors working on justice, climate change, gender, among others, we can ensure their programming responds to the needs of communities living in fragile and conflict-affected states and contributes to building peace.
The Alert Europe team stands ready to collaborate with European institutions and other partners in supporting peacebuilding efforts around the world.
Alert Europe is a signatory of the Dutch National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security (NAP 1325) and a proud member of the Dutch Coalition for Humanitarian Innovation, the Civil Society Platform for Peacebuilding and Statebuilding (CSPPS) and the European Peacebuilding Liaison Office (EPLO).

Alert Europe
In November 2017 heeft International Alert haar Europese hoofdkantoor – Stichting International Alert/”Alert Europe” opgericht in Den Haag, om beter te kunnen samenwerken met Europese regeringen en instellingen, waaronder de Europese Unie, ter ondersteuning van ons gezamenlijke doel om een duurzame en inclusieve vrede te bevorderen.
Alert Europe werkt nauw samen met Europese instellingen, regeringen en maatschappelijke organisaties en betrekt beleidsmakers, instellingen, financiers en vredestichters in strategische samenwerkingsverbanden om het beleid en de praktijk te beïnvloeden en zo de onderliggende oorzaken van conflicten beter aan te pakken, geweld te verminderen en duurzame vrede tot stand te brengen.
Alert Europe treedt ook op als schakel tussen de wereldwijde Alert-gemeenschap en de Europese gemeenschappen van vredestichters, door nieuwe kwesties die ontstaan te observeren en samen met de voornaamste partners te werken om de betrokkenheid en steun voor conflictgevoeligheid, conflictpreventie en het bevorderen van vrede te vergroten.
Alert Europe, dat zijn hoofdkantoor heeft in Den Haag, de ‘Stad van Vrede en Recht’, bevindt zich in een goede positie om als deskundig aanspreekpunt te dienen voor belanghebbenden bij het bevorderen van vrede op het hele continent en is ook goed gesitueerd voor sectoroverstijgende partnerschappen. Door onze expertise op het gebied van het bevorderen van vrede en conflictgevoeligheid te koppelen aan partijen die actief zijn op het gebied van onder andere recht, klimaatverandering en gender, kunnen we ervoor zorgen dat hun programmering aansluit bij de behoeften van gemeenschappen in kwetsbare en door conflicten getroffen staten en bijdraagt aan het bevorderen van vrede.
Het Alert Europe-team staat klaar om met Europese instellingen en andere partners samen te werken bij de ondersteuning van inspanningen voor het bevorderen van vrede overal ter wereld.
Alert Europe is trots om lid te zijn van de Dutch Coalition for Humanitarian Innovation, het Civil Society Platform for Peacebuilding and Statebuilding (CSPPS), en het European Peacebuilding Liaison Office (EPLO).
